Invitation to Join CANSCAIP

Local author, Jean Mills, invites local writers to join CANSCAIP (Canadian Society of Children’s Authors, Illustrators and Performers), where she has been a member for many years.

CANSCAIP is a friendly community for Friends (emerging and self-published authors/illustrators, educators, librarians, publishers and journalists, $50 a year) as well as Members (traditionally published authors/illustrators, $90 a year). The CANSCAIP annual Writing for Children Competition is accepting entries until May 31, 2026 (Note: More than one kidlit author got their publishing start through this contest!)

Membership provides benefits such as:  

• Monthly online membership meetings with expert speakers andember announcements (eg. new books, launches)
• Packaging Your Imagination annual conference in person, live-streamed, and recorded;
• Online writing retreats, critique groups, and social events;
• Manuscript evaluations;
