Amber Allen

Amber Allen is a fiction writer and academic librarian. Her short story “Pattern Recognition” was shortlisted for the 2026 CBC Short Story Prize, and her work has also appeared in Existere.

She is currently seeking representation for a completed manuscript with series potential: a lighthearted mystery featuring a retired librarian drawn into solving a disturbing case in her small community, blending humour, eccentric community dynamics, and a classic puzzle at its core.

She has studied creative writing through the University of Guelph, the Humber School for Writers, and the University of Toronto. A mother of two, she grew up in Wellington County and continues to draw inspiration from the people and places around her.
