Blackwood Hotel

David Antoniuk

Blackwood Hotel is a graphic novel created by David Antoniuk and Eric Woolfe, illustrated by Enya Warren.

After the mysterious disappearance of their parents, two adolescent siblings are sent to live with their mysterious Uncle Ambrose in a sprawling, haunted hotel. The Blackwood Hotel, in the remote town of Blackwood is located in Northern Michigan at the vortex of where three of the great lakes meet. It has been largely forsaken by technology and history. The town exists outside of the rest of the world, and sits on a fissure between our world and the Goblin Universe. Electricity doesn't work reliably and people rely on steampunk gadgetry. To an outsider, the town might appear to be a pastiche of different eras. The siblings join forces with a secret society of children, The Gimlin Gang, who fight the supernatural creatures that plague the town, and struggle to unravel the Hotel’s dark secrets. All the while dealing with the coming of age pains that torture adolescents as they struggle to grow up without growing old.
