Em Wright
Em Wright is an artist, DJ, poet, improvisational musician and arts organizer. She facilitates and hosts several events, including the free improvisation showcase Audiopollination Guelph and dance music series Hybrid Club. She is also a co-director of the Broken Film Festival and forward thinking interdisciplinary arts organization ponyHAUS. As a musician and DJ she has performed at the Guelph Jazz Festival, Women from Space (Toronto), Electric Eclectics (Meaford) and Senseless Fest (Kitchener), among many other experimental music events and raves across so-called Ontario. Her core priority is curating welcoming and adventurous artistic spaces, both for audiences and artists alike.
Em has published a collection of poetry called Speak Birth 1997, and has released an album called 100% Total Life Makeover with her band Doomsday Glitter Posse, in which she acts as writer, vocalist and percussionist. She was also host of the 3rd Annual Audiopollination Guelph 24-Hour Improvisational Marathon. She is currently verrrry bookable as a DJ and event organizer, and loves making friends more than the blood in her veins.
