Jim Brewster
Author
Jim Brewster if first of all, a proud husband, dad, and grandad.
Being a writer and illustrator certainly wasn't on his day-job resume. Over the years, he's worked on the dry docks, on farms, and for 36 years with Bell Canada. But through it all he wrote and illustrated as a hobby, creating graphics and logos for charities, family, and friends.
In the aftermath of the Great Ice Storm of 1998, Jim's first children's book published – Wild League on Ice (Tumbleweed Press) was a tale of rival hockey teams coming together to rebuild the host town of their tournament, after a nasty ice-dragon shut down the village under a layer of ice.
He has since self-published Hockey Night in Scotland, Hockey Night at the North Pole, The Ballad of the Lucky Looney, The Game Outside, and The Longest Breakaway. He is also well known on-line for sports logos and team concept marketing
under the pseudonym "sparkychewbarky".
Jim is retired now, giving him more time to devote to complete a few more books.
