Julie Donelle

Julie Donelle is a Nurse, CPR instructor, children’s author, and mother based in Guelph, Ontario. With over 20 years of nursing experience, Julie has spent much of her career caring for people all ages, helping them navigate medical procedures with compassion, confidence, and a little bit of fun.

Inspired by her work in pediatric and day surgery settings, Julie created the Nurse Honey book series to help children better understand healthcare experiences in a friendly and reassuring way. Her stories use lovable bunny characters, gentle humor, and simple explanations to reduce fear and build confidence around topics such as hospital visits, vaccinations, and lifesaving skills.

Julie is also the owner of Happy Heart CPR, where she teaches Heart & Stroke certified CPR and First Aid courses to healthcare professionals, families, youth, and community groups throughout Guelph and the surrounding area.

As a mother of three, Julie understands the importance of helping children feel safe and informed when facing new experiences. Through her books and teaching, she hopes to empower children, support families, and inspire confidence in young readers.

Her debut children’s book, Nurse Honey is a Bunny, was inspired by her experiences working with children in healthcare and her passion for making medical settings feel less intimidating. When she’s not nursing, teaching CPR, or writing, Julie enjoys spending time with her family and continuing to create new adventures for Nurse Honey and her friends.
