Wendy Nuttall

Wendy Nuttall grew up on a cattle ranch in the Cypress Hills of Saskatchewan. Her exposure to nature has enhanced her ability to observe and incorporate these observations into her books. History was also a part of her childhood, the Cypress Hills Massacre, stories of wolfers, ghosts, moonshine enterprises, the community picnics filled with equal quantities of fist fights and romances weave their way through her writing.

Her traveling and love of stories took her from the prairies to live at L’Anse aux Meadows, Newfoundland & Labrador. The Viking Site was interesting, but the sea and rock were enchanting. The outport village people included me in their everyday life: icebergs, polar bears, Sunday dinners, superstitions and hunkering down with “storm chips” - this was her home.

As a mystery thriller writer, she incorporates her firsthand experiences with domestic violence, and missing people to bring reality into her fiction.

Her cheering section for whatever adventure or profession that embraces has been her son and grandson. She now live in Guelph with her sweetheart, anthropologist/teacher/musician Don.
